DR. MELANIE BUTLER JOINING UROLOGY ASSOCIATES OF ROCHESTER

New physician to help expand UAR's female urology practice

ROCHESTER, N.Y., March 6, 2009 — Urology Associates of Rochester (UAR) is greatly expanding its urology services for women, with the addition of Melanie M. Butler, M.D.

In her new role as director, Urology for Women, Dr. Butler will establish and build a practice specifically focused on providing the highest level of urologic care for women. Working with UAR's providers and staff, she will expand and enhance the practice's state-of-the-art services and therapies for women's urology health issues. Dr. Butler will join Urology Associates of Rochester on March 9, 2009.

Dr. Butler previously served as an attending physician in Urology at both the Center for Urology in Rochester, N.Y. and at Syracuse Urology Associates. Her professional memberships include the American Urological Association, the Society of Women in Urology and the Society of Endourology.

A resident of Victor, N.Y. Dr. Butler earned her medical doctor degree from the University at Buffalo's School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences, and she earned her bachelor's degree in Biology from Canisius College.
